WELCOME, VISITORS! Please sign the Attendance Register at the back of the sanctuary if this is your first recent visit. Preschool Care for children is on the lower level throughout the service. Older children depart for churchtime activities on the middle hymn but remain in the sanctuary on Communion Sundays. Ask an usher for activity packets for use by children during the service, audio equipment for the hearing impaired, pew Bibles and the Order of Worship in large print. SEPTEMBER’S monthly missions offering, sent to Samaritan’s Purse, helps us ship Christmas shoeboxes in November as a part of “Operation Christmas Child.” Please earmark your gift, using check or pew envelope, “Shoeboxes.” It costs us seven dollars per box. Your gift this month helps pay for boxes purchased and filled by the Missions Committee. The exact number will be determined by this month’s offering.


COPIES of The Upper Room, September/October Issue, are on the literature tables at the back of the sanctuary. Help yourself.


THE RICHARDSONS are expected home this evening.

NOW’S THE TIME for committees and interested individuals to sign up as hosts of one of our fall/winter coffee hours or family night suppers. See the bulletin board in the chapel or use a white card from the pew racks through the offering plate.

OUR FALL SERIES of Senior Luncheons continues tomorrow. Join us for just one hour of lunch, devotions, and fellowship. Meet in the church office at Noon. Transportation is available through Pastor Jack.


JOIN US September 19th for our annual, musical Tribute To Rev. Marvin Frey. The songs and choruses will be of his composition, and the choir’s anthem includes his immortal “Kum Ba Yah.” The service will include September’s Membership Anniversary Remembrance.


PASTOR JACK will lead worship at The Villages on Sunday, the 19th at 2:00 p.m. - a half-hour service. You’re invited to attend, to visit with the residents, or even to take part.


GO TO West Barre Weekend on our email for a very brief, mid-week reminder of our up-coming events, emergency announcements, and a list of participants in worship-related activities for the coming weekend. Notify Secretary Jaime Paratore if you’re not able to find it.

NEXT SUNDAY’S SERVICE will include the Installation and dedication of our Christian education staff. Roberta Call’s message to us will be entitled, “Jeremiah was a . . . prophet!”

Grandparents will be photographed with their grandchildren at the close of the service, at the front of the sanctuary.

LAST CALL: The monthly missions offering in August, for the second year, supports Nothing But Nets, which provides insecticide-treated bed nets for African children living in malaria infested locales. Nets cost ten dollars each; but your gift of any amount is most welcome. Please earmark your check or offering envelope, “Nets.” Please use a Missions Envelope.


SUNDAY WORSHIP will be at 9:30 a.m. through the Labor Day Weekend. Sunday School is in summer recess. Our choir rehearses at 8:45 a.m. on Sundays.


PASTOR JACK AND WILMA will be away beginning this afternoon and returning on the evening of September 12th. Reach them by cell phone through Tuesday. Jean Peglow can put you in touch with them when they are in Peru. Lay Leader Gary Antinore will help put you in touch with a United Methodist minister, should an emergency arise.

ROBERTA CALL will bring the morning message on September 12th. The service will include the installation and dedication of our Christian education staff for the coming months. Grandparents who attend with their grandchildren will be photographed by the Hospitality Team, in recognition of Grandparents Day.


OUR FALL SERIES of Senior Luncheons is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 13th. Meet in the church office at Noon. Transportation is available through Pastor Jack.


THE HOSPITALITY TEAM invites you to sign up for its next Day Trip, scheduled for Saturday, September 18th. We’ll be off to Hidden Valley in Varysburg for an Animal Adventure Day. See this morning’s bulletin enclosure and hear DeAnn Corke’s announcement. DeAnn is collecting money thru September 9th.


THE VILLAGES OF OC announces a new-to-our-community transitional care service of 5-6 day a week therapy outside of the hospital setting. Posters and flyers are to be found on our bulletin boards. Call 589-3238 to receive your own copy.
